PRACTICAL ASTRONOMY - AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE

The Association of Bangalore Amateur Astronomers (ABAA) organized introductory course in Practical Astronomy aimed at beginners from 16th May to 21st June 2009. The Course was conducted by Mr. B S C Rao, Founder member of ABAA and was held on weekends, every Saturday and Sunday at 6.15 pm at J N Planetarium. Each talk was for about 45 to 60 minutes and was be followed by questions and discussions. The Course had lectures that introduced participants to the wonders of Astronomy, and provide a very good basic foundation for further study, with a strong emphasis on practical “hands-on” experience. The course was attend by more than 60 people with different backgrounds and ages. The course was very will designed by Mr Rao that reached out to all the participants.
